The installation of the Optimizer
at the Pan Pacific Hotel achieved two main
objectives. The first was to generate
significant energy savings and the second
was to provide centralized monitoring and
control of the chiller system. The Optimizer
saves energy by utilizing the outside air to
match chiller operation to the building load
as close as possible which minimizes energy
wastage. The Optimizer also provides a
computer-based system to monitor chiller
operation and allow adjustments to be made
on site or remotely when the need arises.
Since the installation of
the Optimizer in 1998, average consumption
has decreased by 3000 kWh per day and MD by
300 units. Average savings are between RM
450 ($118.00) to RM 550 ($145.00) per day.
Yearly savings have averaged RM 165,000
($43,070). Estimated savings for five years
is RM 825,000 ($215,350) at current tariff
rates. |
